A new ministry

I’m thrilled to share the news that I’ve been called to be the next rector of a wonderful parish with an enormous heart: the Episcopal Church of the Incarnation in Santa Rosa, California.

Their worship, their fellowship, and especially their care for their community (not least in the wake of October’s wildfires) make this a congregation I couldn’t be prouder to become a part of.

I’ll start after the end of this semester, when my teaching commitment here in Berkeley is complete.

Incarnation friends, I can’t wait to join you in a few months!

Congratulations, Stephen, on your new calling. I pray it will be all you hope for and more.
Regarding your new wording of O Come, O Come Emmanuel, I’m having a fibro flare as well as I pulled something in my arm which has me in more pain. I hope to delve more deeply into the anti-judaism semantics in hymnody.

Cary and his wife and 2 children are going to be a part of The First Presbyterian Church’s missionary outreach July 11-21 in Dublin. They will be helping in Billy Swann’s Vacation Bible School. I’d appreciate your prayers for their team.

Again, congratulations on your upcoming change.
